Cravatta Squalo

Project made for Prof. Ciammaichella laboratory @ IUAV University - the brief: to design an exhibition and a setting for a specific university hall, about a topic we were free to choose.
The brief requested also an "exhibition-brand image" and the signage, as well as lighting and modeling.

We chose to take as a subject the Futurist fashion design, setting up an exhibition in which many different stimulus were given (such as lighting, video, sound, paper and dresses, with an highlight on 3-dimensional views), and we created a very strong 'brand' image for the exhibition.
Cravatta Squalo (Shark-Tie), the chosen title for the exhibit, comes from a Futurist fashion book we found, in which there was a very strange and big tie, with a shape which remembered us a shark fin. Tie relates to fashion, and shark to the futurist taste for violence.

We realized a book to explain the exhibition (it was supposed to be something like a workbook); it was trapezium shaped - with very sharp angles and aluminium applications inside. We used a big bold typography for titles and quotations, as well as strong and 'electric' colors. The two covers were entirely coated with aluminium.

Realized in collaboration with Giuseppina Grieco.
