Le forme di mia mamma
Librettino che ho realizzato per il 50° compleanno di mia mamma. Lei è una persona che dedica gran parte della sua giornata agli altri, ma allo stesso tempo introversa, che non vuole mai riconoscimenti. Ho chiesto a dieci tra le persone a lei più vicine, a cui non viene data spesso la possibilità di esprimerle affetto o apprezzamento, di pensare a lei associandola a una forma - geometrica, composta o inventata - quindi di disegnarla e spiegare la loro scelta con un breve testo. Ho poi riportato disegni e testi creando un librettino, rilegato a mano e con la copertina cucita a mano.
Questo è stato un modo di esprimere i suoi lati importanti per gli altri in un modo indiretto; ognuno ha potuto esprimersi in base al suo personale punto di vista e al suo personale vissuto di lei, ed è stato bello vedere le varie differenze di interpretazione. E' stata anche un'occasione per me di poter applicare il mio lavoro per dare qualcosa a lei come lei lo ha dato a me.

This is a present I made for my mother's 50th birthday. She's a very generous person, she always devotes herself to the other people, but she never wants to point this out. I asked to 10 people, among the closest to her, to think about her and represent her through a shape - a geometric, composed or invented one - then to draw it and explain their choice through a little text.
I then composed a book with all the images and texts. The book was hand-bounded and the cover was hand-stitched.
This was a non-direct way to show all the good in her by the eyes and perception of other people. Everybody expressed themselves from their personal point of view and their experience of her. It was amazing to see the different results from the people I asked to participate.
It was also an opportunity to me to make use of my work to give her something, as she continously does to me.
